The data of the TemTA programme project “Construction Mineral Resources and Mineral Waste: Opportunities for Sustainable Extraction and Circular Valorisation in Estonia” (TEM-TA143) are managed on the NATARC subsurface data management platform SARV. To publish the project data and connect them with the national mineral resources register, geological databases, and other related information, a separate user interface is being developed for specialists, students, and the wider public. A prototype of the portal is available at: https://maavara.geoloogia.info.
Please note that the application is under active development, with new data and functionalities being added continuously. In the first phase of development, the main focus was on convenient searching, filtering, and displaying of deposits and mining claim data from the mineral resources register. The next phase will focus on detailed data characterising collected rock and sediment samples and their properties. In the third stage, a section on secondary raw materials (primarily construction and demolition waste) will be added.
Feedback regarding errors, inaccuracies, and suggestions for improvement is highly appreciated. Development is led by the software and data management team of the Department of Geology at TalTech: programmers Erik Dzotsenidze, Alissa Milovidova, and Marko Peedosk, together with data management expert Kristjan Urtson and professor of bedrock geology Olle Hints.
The portal software has been developed using the Nuxt.js framework and several other open-source components (GeoServer, PostgreSQL, Apache Solr). The source code of the software will be published on GitHub.
