RemarksFeuerkogel 47.8181395,13.74524; Hallstatt Limestone, Triias; Feuerkogel (1:50,000 map sheet N° 97 “Bad Mitterndorf”): For his ammonite locality “Feuerkogel auf dem Röthelstein bei Aussee” Mojs isovics (1893: p. 794, footnote) gives the following explanatory notes: “the older researchers called that place “Teltschen” or “Teltschen Alpe” (Alpe = Alpine pasture)”. Nowadays, the Feuerkogel is the 1,632 meter high unnamed (on the topographic map) hill about 1,500 meters east of the Rötelstein (1,614 m). The Teltschenalm, now Ausseer- or Hinterberger-Teltschenalm, itself, lies about 1,430 meters ENE of the summit of Feuerkogel.
