Location remarks | Pulkowka(=Pulkovka) Pulkovka River near the town of Pulkovo. This is a classic fossil locality situated in the gorge of the Pulkovka River crossing the Baltic-Ladoga Glint about 1-5 km east of the town of Pulkovo. It was explored extensively by palaeontologists and private fossil collectors during the nineteen century, but is now completely submerged by a reservoir. According to early descriptions of the locality, it exposed a sequence of sedimentary rocks from the Tremadoc to the Upper Llanvirn (Pander 1830, pl. 31f; Bok 1868). Pushkin & Popov, 2005. |
