Description

The peatland is located in the central part of Järva county, on the slope of the Pandivere upland, 7 km northeast of the cityPaide, the northern part is crossed by the Roosna Alliku-Müüsleri road. The peat formed by paludification in depression , feeding on groundwater. Peat lies on the moraine. The water recipient is the Valgma River. The outskirts of the peatlands are cultivated, a spruce-birch forest grows in the central part. The area of the peatland is 1003 ha, of which the peat deposit is 278 ha. There are 45 ha of mineral islands . The peat reserve 1.1 million tons are all well-decomposed peat economic probable  reserves . Only fen peat deposit, consisting of well-decomposed (51%) wood and wood-Hypnum peat spreads. The thickness of the deposit is 1.2 ... 2.8 m, ash content  is12.2%, moisture content is 77%. The Valgma River, which passes through the peatland, has been deepened . It is recommended to leave the peatland in its natural state (Orru et al., 1982k., Orru, 1995).
